Ginkakuji

   This is Ginkakuji, the so-called silver temple in Kyoto. It is not, as the name would imply, silver at all, although the story is that at one point some old guy had planned to coat the whole thing in silver in a similar fashion to Kinkakuji, the ridiculously famous Golden Temple in Kyoto. As it is, Ginkakuji seems pretty beat up. You can even see in my crummy picture that the wood seems kinda weathered. They say it makes it look more distinguished.
